Dr. De Vose holds a doctorate in Counseling and Counselor Education from North Carolina State University and a Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

He is licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with advanced credentialing in both addiction and trauma. He is also an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) and a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS).

Dr. De Vose’s professional experience spans over 20 years of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families, veterans and active duty soldiers treating various conditions such as substance abuse, PTSD, mood, and behavior disorders.

Dr. De Vose’s areas of interest are Anxiety, Depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Conduct Disorders, Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder, and Substance Abuse.

Mission Statement

With a primary focus on enhancing the lives of others, D. W. De Vose & Associates strives to support the initiatives of individuals, families, clinical providers, and community agencies who are experiencing challenges related to trauma, addiction, behavioral health, and overall wellness. In doing so, we offer the following services to our consumers: Counseling, Clinical Supervision, and Consultation.

Counseling

In Counseling, we strive to provide WISE (Wisdom, Insightfulness, Sincerity, & Experience) counsel to all our consumers. By this, we will use the following tools: Wisdom acquired through advanced education and training, the ability to gain a deeper understanding gained through Insightful opportunities, effective application of clinical skills delivered with Sincerity, and based on our evidenced based practice Experiences. Wise counsel is designed to listen to the needs of our consumers while helping them to strategically plan, develop, and implement action steps in support of positive change and well-being.

Clinical Supervision

In Clinical Supervision, we strive to provide GROWTH (Guidance, Regulatory, Opportunities, Wealth, Teaching, & Help). This is where clinical trained providers will gain: Guidance while sharpening their clinical skillset, acquiring a better understanding of Regulatory guidelines, Opportunities to explore the impact of fundamental beliefs on their clinical practice, access to a Wealth of knowledge and experiences acquired over 20 years of clinical practice, further develop techniques through Teachable moments, and Help using evidence-based practice models throughout the developmental process.

Consultation

In Consultation, we strive to provide high quality cost savings strategies for community mental health agencies/providers to EDIT (Evaluate, Develop, Implement, & Track) their services. In that, we will conduct a thorough program Evaluation, Develop a strategic plan, provide oversight of the plan Implementation, and Track progress with customized tools in effort to provide decision making feedback that promotes higher level of functioning and maximizes outcomes.
